The Concept
Identification and implementation of
engaging, evidence-based virtual learning environments is a priority within
modern education systems in order to meet the demands of an increasingly
digitally focused student population and thus promote deeper learning.
Within this area, concepts such as curricula
co-design, utilisation of blended digital learning platforms, games-based playful
learning and digital badges are increasingly becoming of interest to academic
institutions as a way of increasing student engagement and satisfaction with
curricula.
This blog aims to explore some of the options available to teachers and learners alike and aims to research the underlying theory of playful learning in order to better understand and appreciate this innovative area of learning theory.
